Safety & Risk Management are two pillars of our Expedition Mentality.
A CULTURE OF SAFETY
We are dedicated to creating a culture of safety in all aspects of our trip: the safety of students and teachers, as well as our staff and employees, is paramount.
We consider this to be our single most important responsibility, from the moment your students arrive until they depart. We are proud of our safety record and high standards of safety. All staff are trained to think and act “safety first.” We provide 24 hour supervision and all our staff are Wilderness, First Aid and CPR trained and have current background check certificates. One of our unique features is that Risk Management is deeply embedded into our Expedition Mentality.

SAFETY CHECKLIST
Risk Management does not stand by itself – it is deeply embedded into our Expedition Mentality. In this way all expedition members are challenged to continuously assess how what they are doing impacts the health, welfare and safety of each member of the group and the group as a whole. We always pause to consider this critical question, which is aimed at Risk Management’s most important aspect – Prevention of Harm.
Safety is top priority on every Expedition. Our guides are certified to assess and resolve safety issues in any given situation or environment. All of our local guides and activities are thoroughly vetted for both our high safety standards and educational value before hosting a group.
24-Hour On-Call E&E Expeditions team in each destination country and in the US to provide support to clients, guides, and providers and ensure any issues are dealt with efficiently.
Each E&E Expeditions guide has a database of local clinics and hospitals nearest the towns you will be visiting. They also have a first aid kit to address minor medical issues, which is carried with them on every activity and hike.
We are deeply committed to providing our clients with the highest level of safety, reflected in our extensive preparation and professional execution of each activity and itinerary.

Traveling in times of COVID
The world is opening up to student travel again and we are ready to assist groups that are willing to travel under the guidelines set forth by airlines, the destination country, and the US. Travel during the COVID-19 pandemic involves certain inherent risks of infection and/or travel delays that we cannot wholly eliminate. While we feel confident that our safe travel guidelines are designed to maximize the well-being of everyone in the group, we must all be willing to accept these risks.

COVID Protocols
To ensure that everyone can experience all aspects of the itinerary, as well as to promote the health of both our travelers and host country residents, we strongly encourage all participants to be fully vaccinated for COVID prior to their Expedition. All personnel involved in accompanying the group will be vaccinated or test negatively within 72 hours of your arrival in the country. We will also ensure that all travelers have the necessary overseas medical coverage (through a mandatory travel insurance policy) to meet any special requirements put in place by local governments. While on expedition, masks that cover both nose and mouth must be worn properly wherever local regulations require it and we will encourage frequent use of hand sanitizer. Should a traveler become sick or test positive during the Expedition, we will arrange for any needed medical care and help to sort out isolation requirements of students together with a designated adult
